The GRIT Project Selected for Amplify Hope Program
We are proud to announce another member of the Amplify Hope Program at Collaborate 317, Elliott Hughes and The GRIT Project.
For those of you not familiar with the Amplify Hope Program, it is an incubator for emerging non-profits that offers a place to share ideas and resources in a centralized think tank to optimize positive social impact in the community.
About The GRIT Project
The GRIT (an acronym for God, Recovery, Initiative, Training) Project is here to educate and equip the church to help those in or seeking recovery from addiction and to provide a recovery residences for those in or seeking recovery to be given the tools and resources to thrive.
About Elliott Hughes
Elliott Hughes has bee part of addiction and recovery. He overdosed on heroin multiple times, and had a close friend pass away due to an overdose.
Today Hughes is using his life experience to fight the raging opioid crisis we have here in Indiana through two separate groups. He serves as the executive director of the Indiana chapter of Steered Straight, a program that educates youth at schools with motivational speaking and an extended curriculum. Steered Straight is based out of New Jersey, and is founder of The GRIT Project.
