Sam Ash Donates 3 Guitars to Hearts in Hand Homeless Outreach
This is incredible. The Amplify Hope program brought together 50 purpose-driven entrepreneurs in January, and magical things are already happening within the group. We want to share a quick story with you about collaboration and caring. Let me introduce you to Tag Griffin, Steven Ross, and Jamie from Sam Ash Music.
Tag Griffin works hard to help the homeless, or those he affectionally calls his friends on the street. He feeds them, helps them get identification, and prepares them to take the next step out of homelessness when they are ready. Many of these people suffer from a mental health issue, others have simply fallen on really hard times and don’t know how to get out of their current cycle, and still others are suffering from drug and alcohol dependance and have lost hope. The bottom line with any of the reasons is that they are still human beings who should be treated with kindness, caring, and respect. We are so thankful for people like Tag, who make sure that NO person is ever left behind.
Steven Ross is the founder of the Walk the Talk Speaker Series, a Ted Talks inspired event that is creating an epic shift by bringing together 6 speakers around themes like happiness, forgiveness, and empathy. Mr. Ross is also owner of the historic Vogue nightclub in Broad Ripple and has an extensive musical background.
In one of our Amplify Hope Mastermind sessions Tag made a request to see if anyone had any old used acoustic guitars that could be donated to a few of his friends on the street who played music. An instrument would not only help them cope with the challenges of homelessness, but also give them a revenue source to play for other people. That said, the guitar is a sign of hope. Something everyone needs when they are in a dark place. If you can give a person hope, you give them a chance, and that is exactly what Tag’s request was all about. In the meeting Steven mentioned that he knows the folks at Sam Ash (a top national music store) and they might be able to help in his quest.
Sure enough, the amazing leadership and caring hearts at Sam Ash donated 3 brand new acoustic guitars to Hands in Heart Homeless Outreach. A huge THANK YOU to Jamie and his team. Here is a quick video of the moment.
